Our second lot from Bramble Stud is a real highlight for the many fans of the legendary Woodlander Farouche, for not only is Womble of Wimbledon by her son Wild Child, he is also from the same mare family as her!

Womble’s sire Wild Child has been a Futurity highlight for many years. Not only does he still hold the record for the highest Futurity score of all time of 9.79, he has also sired countless Elite offspring over the years, and has become known for passing on his beautiful type with astonishing consistency.

His mother Farouche won the World Breeding Championships twice in a row and still holds the all-time record score with 9.88. Bred in Britain by Lynne Crowden of Woodlander Stud, Wild Child sired 3 internationally licensed stallions in his first season at stud, and had the great honour of being chosen to stand at the famous Landesgestüt Celle in Germany.

Duffy Diamond is from the Erlenkette line, which brought us not only Wild Child, but also is also the motherline of the famous Florestan. Crossing the F-line back onto this mare family created not only Farouche, but also the Bundeschampionat winner Fürst Fabio and Sönke Rothenberger’s international Grand Prix star Favourit.

Fürst Fabio is, in fact, out of Duffy Diamond’s mother Waldrose who also bred the Grand Prix horse Sir Eon and who has two grandchildren at international PSG/Inter I level in San Fabia and Penhaligon’s Juniper.

Womble impressed at his Futurity evaluations with excellent veterinary scores of 8.75 and 9, and with elegant long lines and expressive, elastic gaits.
