Eventing bloodlines in the purple. This very exciting young International competition and breeding
prospect is already broken and going well on the flat. He has been seriously impressive loose
jumping - showing tremendous scope, fantastic technique, three beautiful paces as well as a
superbly relaxed and trainable temperament. He has already been trained to the dummy and his
first mare has been scanned in foal from its first service. The team at home rate Britannia’s Bijou
very highly and see much of his grandam's ability in him. He has been awarded Gold in the 2020
British Breeding Futurity Evaluations and graded Gold Premium by the Sports Pony Studbook
Society.
He received high marks for all his gaits and an excellent vet mark of 8.75. The overall comment from
the evaluators was ‘ a beautiful and well produced young pony with harmonious lines and an
excellent walk, giving a hint of what there is yet to come from this lovely prospect for eventing. 
Britannia's Bijou is the first foal of one of the 4 ET daughters of the Eventing legend, Headley
Britannia. The only mare to win Burghley, Badminton & Kentucky among numerous other wins and
amassing an impressive 1479 BE Points during her career plus an Olympic silver medal. She even has
her own Wikipedia listing. The diminutive chestnut mare with the partnership of Olympic rider
Lucinda Fredericks put mares in competition on the map.
 
Britannia's Bijou is out of Bella Britannia who had two foals, Britannia’s Bijou and a filly called
Britannia’s Rose, before being broken as a 6yr old. She was successfully competed Eventing up to
BE100 and Showjumped upto1.20m before going back to stud and is now in foal to Timolin. She is by
the Sports Horse GB Graded full Thoroughbred stallion Mr Big Cat who, as a 7 year old, was placed at
Intermediate and competed at the world young horse championships at Le Lion d’Angers. 
Britannia's Bijou is by the Top Riding pony stallion Catherston Littledale Bright Star - a high quality
pony stallion that has competed at everything from Vaulting to Showjumping. He only stands at
12.2hh but is currently the only pony stallion to have sired International progeny in all of the
Olympic discplines; Dressage, Eventing and Showjumping. He was awarded SPSS Elite Stallion status
through the results of his progeny.  His progeny include:

Catherston Bit of Gold – BEF Futurity Elite as a foal, NPS Dressage Champion 2014, 38 BD points,

Weston Park.
