DONIZETTI SLF Black Colt born 29th March 2021
A long legged, fine limbed, Charismatic colt foal from Dressage Royalty with Outstanding conformation and movement.
SIRE – DONIER is a wonderfully put together stallion, he shows expressive gaits and packs in a huge amount of charm. He finished his performance test in the top group receiving 9.0's across the board, with his top WBFSH ranked sire and his legendary damline this young stallion is destined for greatness.
Sire DE NIRO was an outstanding stallion who's sporting career was exceptional, in 2001, he won the German Championships of Professional Riders with his rider Dolf-Dietram Keller. That following year he won international Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special dressage tests in Saumur and Berlin. His offspring are leading in his footsteps as in In 2007, De Niro's son Deveraux became World Champion of the six-year-old dressage horses in Verden. In 2008 De Niro was honoured by the Hanoverian Society with the title "Stallion of the Year". In 2009, De Niro provided two European Champions as well as Dablino, the most successful Grand Prix newcomer. In 2011, the overall amount of prize value of De Niro's descendants reached more than 1,000,000 Euros.
Damline- His dam Thery is a mare who has produced a number of successful sons, Donier's full brother Fürst Toto was the main premium winner and has been successful in sport following the commendation. His great grand dam Sunny Girl produced the licensed stallion Lord Schufro OLD (by L’Espoir), Regional Reserve Champion and placed twice at the German Championships.
Grandsire TOTILAS requires no introduction. A legend in his own lifetime, he brought dressage into a new era and set three world records in the process. Known for his fantastic, expressive movement and his harmony with his rider, Totilas is now proving himself as valuable as a breeding stallion as he was a sport horse.
Performance - Totilas was the first horse in history to break the 90% barrier, scoring 90.7% to take home individual and team gold at the 2009 Windsor Europeans. He followed this up with three gold medals at the 2010 Kentucky World Equestrian Games, having also scored 92.3% at Olympia 2009 to set a record that would stand for four years. In 27 appearances at international grand prix with Edward Gal, Totilas scored over 80% on 24 occasions. The pair won three World Cup qualifiers and then the World Cup Final as 's-Hertogenbosch on a score of 89.8%. Under Matthias Rath, Totilas was part of the silver medal-winning team at the 2011 Rotterdam Europeans and finished fourth individually. On his only appearances against Valegro (at Aachen 2014), Totilas was the undeniable victor; winning both the grand prix and the grand prix special on 82% and 84%.
Sire - Gribaldi was champion of the 1995 Trakehner Licensing in Neumünster, and was later approved for KWPN, Oldenburg and the Danish Warmblood societies. At the age of four he won the stallion class in s’Hertogenbosch and took reserve champion honours in the Pavo Cup for four-year-old dressage horses. Under Edward Gal he had an impressive international career, winning the 2004 Zwolle International Stallion Show Kür with 73.70% and the Kür at the CHIO Rotterdam. Gribaldi was proclaimed Elite by the Trakehner society in 2003, and in 2005, based on the performance of his 6- and 7-year old offspring, the KWPN awarded him the Keur Predicate. In 2008 Gribaldi was proclaimed Trakehner Stallion of the Year. At the time of his death in 2010, there were 707 KWPN registered Gribaldi mares, over 300 of which had received the ster predicate. Among his offspring are Painted Black, Sisther de Jeu, Hofrat, Siro, Unee BB, Atterupgaards Orthilia, Winnetou GEP, and more than 60 other offspring competing at grand prix.
Damline - Totilas' dam produced two other offspring competing at intermediate and advanced level, as well as Totilas' full sister Uusminka. From his grand-dam Elsa came the advanced level dressage horses Talan and Uljanoff. Damsire Glendale is a son of grand prix showjumper Nimmerdor, prolific sire of jumping horses, while third sire Akteur is the sire of grand prix horses in both jumping and dressage.
Progeny - Totilas' offspring are impressing as much as their sire. From his first crop, 10 sons were licensed with various societies. He now has more than 20 stallion sons, including Total Hope, who is out of Rio individual silver medallist Weihegold OLD. His son Trafalgar won the stallion competition for his age group at the KWPN show in February 2017, while in 2016, the top two spots were occupied by the two Totilas sons Toto Jr. and Governor. Totilas' foals inherit his expressive movement and charisma, and he is ideally suited to a mare who needs improvement in the trot.
DAM - GAGA LADY is from the Damline of Havanna who produced the Licenced Stallion Lorenzo CH by Ferro with many international wins to his credit - IDR5* with Wayne Channon (GBR) 1st CDI-W 2007 - Freestyle 2007 Lipica (SLO); 1st CDI-W 2007 - Grand Prix 2007 Lipica (SLO); 1st CDI-W 2006 - Freestyle 2006 Lipica (SLO); 1st CDI-W 2006 - Grand Prix 2006 Lipica (SLO); 1st CDI-W 2005 - Grand Prix 2005 Lipica (SLO); 1st CDI3* 2005 - Freestyle 2005 Vejer de la Frontera (ESP); 1st CDI3* 2005 - Grand Prix 2005 Vejer de la Frontera (ESP); 1st CDI3* 2005 - Freestyle 2005 Jerez de la Frontera (ESP); 1st CDI3* 2005 - Grand Prix Spécial 2005 Vejer de la Frontera (ESP); 1st CDI3* 2005 - Grand Prix Spécial 2005 Jerez de la Frontera (ESP); 1st CDI3* 2005 - Grand Prix 2005 Vejer de la Frontera (ESP); 1st CDI2* 2004 - Grand Prix 2004 Frys (GBR)
SIRE VIVALDI is a Keur stallion that has been an even better breeding stallion than he was a competitor. Strong in type, Vivaldi impresses under saddle with charisma, incredible movement and exceptional rideability. He passes all of this onto his offspring and is always in demand.
Performance - He was reserve champion of his stallion performance test, and in 2007 he won the coveted Pavo Cup under Dutch Olympian Hans Peter Minderhoud. In 2008 and 2009, he won the KWPN stallion series, achieving marks of 10.0 for his trot. He has competed internationally up to prix st georges, scoring over 72%, and is trained up to advanced, but has been used predominantly for breeding due the the high demands placed on him.
Sire - His sire Krack C was champion of the Pavo Cup in 1996 and 1997, and at his stallion performance test in Ermelo, he achieved very high marks for his rideability, which he has passed on to his son and grandsons.. Krack C won several grands prix with Anky van Grunsven and participated in the World Equestrian Games in Jerez in 2002. Anky also rode Jazz's sire Cocktail at grand prix level internationally.
Damline - Damsire Jazz is one of the most successful dressage stallions of all time. Almost 100 of his offspring have reached grand prix, and he is currently ranked fifth on the WBFSH Sire Rankings, having led the rankings for four years (2008-2011) and having never been out of the top five since the current rankings began; a more successful record than any other stallion. His most successful son, Jerich Parzival, competed at grand prix until the age of 19, never coming away without a team medal, barring his final appearance at Rio 2016, where he was withdrawn to a snakebite! Parzival competed at the World Cup Final four times; he won twice and came second twice. He won individual gold at the Rotterdam and Windsor Europeans and has won an incredible total of 14 championship medals.
Progeny - Vivaldi is now recognised globally as an outstanding producer of sport horses and stallions. He has more than 30 licensed sons, among them several highly-priced premium stallions. In the Netherlands, his progeny are already counted amongst the top dressage horses. At the World Young Horse Championships in Verden in 2015, his son Eye Catcher won the Bronze Medal of the six-year-olds. In 2015, his son Fenix won the five-year-old Pavo Cup in the Netherlands. Vivaldi also produced several mare winners at shows and in 2015, he was third best stallion of the FN dressage breeding valuation throughout Germany with 170 points. One of his most successful stallion sons is Vitalis, who was reserve champion of the main NRW licensing in 2009, and dominated the dressage index of his stallion performance test in 2010 in Warendorf. With record marks of 10.0 for trot and 9.8 for canter, Vitalis was the easy champion of his age-group in the USA. Since returning to Germany, he has been trained up to advanced level and is successful up to intermediate I. In 2016, he won both small tour classes at Ermelo on scores over 74% with Isabel Freese.
GRANDSIRE FERRO (also known as Olympic Ferro) is a foundation sire whose influence is still felt long after his death in 2005 aged 18; in the 2016 Sire Rankings, he was in 12th, ahead of numerous living sires. He was particularly valued for his exceptional temperament and outstanding use of the hindleg, with a brilliant attitude to his work that has been passed on to his offspring. He was not only a successful dressage stallion, but also scored well in the jumping sections his performance test, with comments that he showed a good technique over a fence and powerful gallop.
Performance - As a three-year-old, Ferro was champion of his performance test at Ermelo. Ferro won team silver at the 1998 World Equestrian Games (where he finished individual 6th), the 1999 European Championships and the 2000 Olympic Games under Copy van Baalen of the Netherlands. The pair's greatest achievement came when they placed second in the World Cup Final in 's-Hertogenbosch scoring over 80% for their freestyle.
Sire – Ferro’s Sire Ulft is a son of Keur stallion Le Mexico, a typical jumper progenitor, with a high jumping index. Le Mexico's sire Mexico is a full brother to the famous Furioso II, a much-celebrated jumping sire in France. Their sire is Furioso xx, who was approved in numerous studbooks.
Damline - Ferro's dam, Brenda, is a daughter of the Holsteiner, Farn, who was himself very high on the jumping index with 146 points. Farn's son Nimmerdor, had such great impact on performance horse breeding that he was named Horse of the Century by the KWPN. The mare Brenda, was awarded all three mare titles on offer in the KWPN - ster, preferent and prestatie. The mare line goes back to the Hanoverian Prefekt, and one of the old Gelders foundation families.
Progeny - Ferro's offspring speak for themselves, and the quality of his frozen semen is excellent. Of more than 40 licensed sons, the best known are Metall, Negro, and Rousseau. His grand-sons and grand-daughters are currently at the very top of the sport across the globe; Valegro (by Negro) and Uthopia (by Metall) were part of the London 2012 Olympic gold-medal-winning team, with Valegro's success in sport being unparelled. Three-time world record holder, and multi-medal winner who has not been beaten at a championship since 2011, Valegro retired in 2016 as the undisputed king of the dressage arena and darling of the public. Uthopia is a widely successful stallion in his own right, and is one of six licensed sons from Metall, who also sired Special D. Rousseau has a number of licensed sons, among them Ampère and Blue Hors Zack, both outstanding stallions whose offspring are making waves in both breeding and sport.
Ferro's early KWPN offspring reports were very good; "his foals showed well developed long-lined riding type foals with alert expressions, and a long and well-shaped neck.”
