It is a great pleasure to introduce another highlight of dressage breeding from Theresa Oakes's
Penhaligon Stud in this very striking daughter of the great Grand Galaxy Win.
Kastel's Grand Galaxy Win was the Champion Stallion of his grading in Denmark in 2014, and
subsequently came second in the Danish young dressage horse final in 2015, before coming
sixth at the World Championships for five-year-old dressage horses in 2016. From his first crop
of foals, he produced the Oldenburg Champion Stallion Global Player, the two premium stallions
Hesselhøj Gnags and Giovanni Bell, as well as numerous premium mares, including the
Oldenburg “Brillantring” mare Silberlily. His son Highfive Fuglsang won the silver medal at the
four-year-old Danish Championships with a dream mark of 9. He is highly valued as a progenitor
our outstanding movement.
Santorini’s mother is by the influential Soliman de Hus out of a Welt Hit II x Donnerhall mare. The
full sister to this mare bred the successful PSG/Inter I horse Sun Light. The direct motherline
produced the international PSG/Inter I horse Aguilar (by Argentinus), successful under the
saddle of Sandra Walther and later Nicole Ebisch. She produces offspring of wonderful type and
consistency, which saw both her 2018 foal Penhaligon Soleilette Aimee (by Freischütz) and her
2019 foal Penhaligon Django (by Don Nobless) selected for the AES Elite Dressage Foal Auction
at the BD Nationals where both sold to excellent competition homes.
Santorini impressed the Futurity evaluators with her powerful frame, correct conformation and
expressive, uphill gaits. Built for longevity and bred for performance, she represents an excellent
investment.
